ACSG Kudos:

ACSG members worldwide express their appreciation for the volunteers who lead the study group sessions and contribute knowledge and time. Many of the email messages refer to the old study group name, ACCSG.

I wanted to extend my appreciation, regarding the Internetworkexperts jobs mailing list. Recently, I acquired a position as a CCNA instructor based on one of the job postings. In short, I applied and within 72 hours obtained a contract teaching position, which has led to consistent and continual work. Thank You AND Continued Success! -- DC

Thanks for the inspiration, and the ACCSG vision. I passed my CCNA certification on the 31st of July with a score of 822. I live in Augusta, Georgia and communicate with the study group via email. I'm looking forward to the challenge of attaining CCNP. -- JH

Congratulations to Joel for passing the CCNP certification. Way to go Joel! I have two test to pass to achieve this goal. You and the study group continue to inspire me. Once again CONGRATULATIONSSSSS!!!!!!! -- TB

Just passed CCNA this morning. Thanks for putting together a group like this to keep me motivated even if I did take it at the last minute. :-)  -- JV

This is a heartfelt "Thank You" to Joel from me and I know I speak on behalf of many of the other members of the ACCSG. As I see the ACCSG in full bloom every alternate Wednesday with a "Beginner", an "Intermediate" and "Advanced" group in full swing. Motivated leaders who are fully involved, Ahmed Omar, Brad Maust, Phillip Wilson and others. Jobs e-mail list, ACCSG notes with its wealth of excellent information, links to pertinent web sites. Being made aware of free offers we would otherwise not know about. Having a mailing list of the 550 plus or so Network Professionals brains available to tap into when a problem occurs at work and we have to solve it in a hurry. Professional contacts and friendships we have all been able to benefit from through the ACCSG. The list goes on of direct and indirect benefits I certainly have been able to take advantage of. I passed the CCNA milestone yesterday after having been firmly rooted in only pursuing Microsoft Certification. Joel changed that and made plenty more opportunity available to me. Thanks man, I know what you have done for me and I appreciate it. -- SB

Hello, just wanted to thank this mailing list's members and Joel for all great links and info that have appeared in my inbox over the past month or so. I just got back from the test center with a score of 833 on my CCNA exam! -- JS

I finally finished studying and passed the test! Feels great. Of course the ACCSG has been a great help and source of inspiration, support and encouragement. -- GM

Wanted to be added to the "I passed the CCNA exam" list. Passed it on the first try!  I did want to send a thank you, first to you for starting up the Cisco study group and for the dedication that you have shown toward the group and I would also like to thank Jihad Grihm for the time that he has taken to teach the class (that was a few months ago when he was teaching CCNA).  I am looking forward to sitting in on Jihad's ACRC class. Again, thank you for your hard work and dedication to the group!!!! -- CB

I am fairly new to the group (since August 1999) and I study with the group when we meet and go over the official textbooks. The meetings always provide an overview, review and an opportunity to ask questions, pose scenarios and exchange ideas/information. -- EL

I have accepted a job [working on] an ATM implementation project. This position matches my career objectives and will provide invaluable Cisco ATM switch and Cisco router experience. Thanks for your help in my job search efforts. I attribute my getting this position in large part to my attendance, participation and study efforts, albeit off and on, in the ACCSG! Thanks for your efforts in this endeavor. -- GM

I passed the CCNA exam today with a score of 878! Thanks for all your help. Now it's on to CCDA! -- MH

Thanks for a good site on Cisco certification. I enjoyed the recommended books section, helped me to find some additional material in my CCNA quest. -- JS

I am very impressed with your organization and number of members for Atlanta. Have you by chance, heard of a similar organization in Dallas? I have been looking, and have not found one so far. -- BW

I'm a CCNA, CCSI in San Jose, Costa Rica and also long time subscriber of your list, thanks for your time and effort. As you can see you guys are helping others far away from Atlanta. --CC, Costa Rica

I recently joined your newsgroup for the Atlanta chapter of Cisco Study. I would like to express my congratulations on organizing such a valuable project. It is always great to see someone undertake the responsibility of organizing an event that will better people. -- SR

I would like to thank you for all the information that you always share with the members of this study group. All the information has been very helpful.  -- AR

Just returned from ACCSGV2 and was very impressed with the substitute leader, Jihad Grihm. He used very applicable examples and really took the mystique out of IP addressing. He had very good command over the class. He was just outstanding. Thanks for your efforts for fellow IT professionals. -- LT

I just visited your web site and want to say that I love what you are doing with the ACCSG. I am unable to attend and am progressively doing less and less networking, but I often recommend your group to up and coming network personnel and I feel as though I've missed something by not being able to attend. Thank you for keeping me on your emailing list. I hope things continue to go well with this endeavor. -- PO

Hey man keep up the good work. I just wanted to let you know, that I am a member of ACCSG. I live in New York. I was offered a position in Atlanta a few weeks ago but I turned it down. After viewing your work, you make me want to bring my family to Atlanta just to work with your group. -- JB

I just wanted to extend my appreciation for your help to all of us. I am one of the silent watchers of the group. I am an MCSE and MCT and will be certifying for Novell next month and then on to Cisco. At that time I will become more active. In the meantime, I just wanted to let you know that I am here, and utilizing your efforts. -- RS

I was sent the ACCSG information from IMS. Your study groups sound great. I'm looking forward to meeting with everyone this Wednesday. I just want to thank you for starting these study groups. -- RR

I am very happy to hear you are starting a new group. It was very foolish of me to miss the first group, I won't make that mistake twice. I, and many others, appreciate what you are doing for us. Keep up the good work! -- JP

I think last night was great too. Thank GOD for people like you. I respect you a lot for finding time in your busy schedule to assist other IT folks to make it in their careers. My husband [and I] will keep on tuned to the new formation of the new CCNA group. -- JM

I don't know how you made this happen Joel. I hope everybody realize what a fantastic opportunity this gives them. I wish I had these resources when I was try to get my CCNP. I will be there next Wednesday. I feel like we owe you for all this help. Thank you again. -- AS

We all owe you for the leadership and dedication you have shown by putting the Study Group together and for it to have been SO successful. You play to a "Full House" every time. We all benefit. You have played a major part in my "Ramping up" into the Industry. Thanks Joel, you have helped me a lot. But I guess that is just the type of guy you are. -- SB

I really appreciate this group and the fantastic knowledge it is giving me and help in achieving my Cisco Certification goals. Again, thanks for the great study group. -- PP

Well that's just great. Now your saturating the friggin market!! Where will future CCNAs find jobs? Tibet? Just kidding! Congrats on another successful study group! This alternative to spending thousands on training classes and 'boot-camps' is a great testament to persistence and partnering. Anyway, congrats again to you and the new CCNAs. -- BJ

I am not sure if I ever told you, but in Dec. I passed the CCNA. I have not been to the meetings for a while, I plan on returning soon. I appreciate have been able to attend. If you don't have me in your count, please add me because the study group definitely helped. -- ES

You are doing a terrific job with this whole study group thing.  -- TJ

Just wanted to thank you for those CCNA notes and information, I passed today with a 775, not a easy as I thought it would be. Anyway, Thanks a million. -- BC

Thanks for the great work!! -- LB

Joel, just wanted to say thanks for the terrific work you have been doing with the study group ... and the inspiration on the Microsoft study groups in the past. I thank you personally for helping get me to where I am with both the study group and the inspiration of being a Master CNE and MCSE ... which egged me on that it was really possible. In a few months I will probably join the [jobs] e-mail group ... as a CCNP -- get an offer I can't refuse ... and you would have been a major reason for my success. Thanks, and yes I do appreciate the employment [feedback]. If not for now ... for the relatively near future. -- PP

Happy New Year Joel! It really is great of you to take the time to do this. I passed the CCNA exam a couple of days before Christmas. -- ES

Thanks for all you do. -- MG

I was really please when I saw the email. Since most of us want to one day move into a router-type position, I found it useful to see the qualifications needed for this position. It will help in gauging whether you're ready or not to move into the position. Sometimes we sell ourselves short, thinking we're not qualified, when in fact we are. You always have to learn something on the job, and that's great too.  -- MM

Hey guy! I think sending out some form of announcements about positions would be great, some of us are looking to break into the the industry. I don't know what type of responses you received, but I for one could use all the help I can get. Thanks and keep up the good work Joel. -- KB

Happy New Year to you and everyone in the study group. I have been receiving your mail on the Cisco certification study [group]. Due to I am far away from your country and not able to join in in the study group. Thanks for your hard work and time on providing good information to [a] Cisco supporter.  -- KT, Singapore

As I was going over some areas in the book I had highlighted (from the original study group meetings), I kept on hearing your voice in my head, imparting your valuable experiences. It amazes me, when I think about it, how much of a positive influence you have had on my development in the past few years. Thanks again. I feel as if I have had as good a grounding as I could have, under the circumstances. -- SB

Have I mentioned lately how great a job I think you're doing with this study group? I am really impressed with it. Thanks again for your efforts above and beyond the call. This is truly amazing.  -- JM

Just when I thought no one cared there is Joel Barrett giving out humor and helping others get ahead in their careers. Well done Joel. One day we will all have to look in the mirror and say "What did you do?" You will have an answer.  -- JF
